YipYap respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains the information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you when you use the YipYap mobile app and website.

Information We Collect

We may collect account information such as your email address, username, display name, profile details, avatar, and account settings. We also process activity such as polls and answer options you create, comments, votes, likes, saves, follows, reposts, reports, uploaded poll images, and other interactions with YipYap.

We may also collect app and device information needed to operate and improve YipYap, such as app version, device type, usage events, diagnostics, crash information, and advertising or monetization-related information where those features apply.

Age and Birthday Information

YipYap is intended for users 13 and older. We ask for your birthday to determine whether you are eligible to use YipYap and to help keep content age-appropriate. Your birthday is stored privately and is not shown on your public profile.

We derive an account age group: under 13, age 13–17, or age 18+. Age information is used to block under-13 access, filter mature-topic content for users under 18, support safety and moderation, and apply age-appropriate advertising or monetization controls. Normal public app features use the derived age group rather than displaying your full birthday.

Age-Appropriate and Mature Topics

Accounts identified as under 13 are blocked from using YipYap features. Accounts for users age 13–17 do not receive access to polls marked as mature topics. Users age 18 and older may have access to mature-topic polls.

Some polls may be marked as “Mature Topic” or “Not for minors.” These may include discussions such as alcohol, gambling, dating drama, strong language, or serious news topics. A mature-topic label does not permit pornographic content, exploitation, threats, hate, graphic gore, illegal activity, or other prohibited content.

How We Use Information

We use information to create and manage accounts, provide polls and results, personalize and refresh the feed, support social features, respond to support requests, enforce age restrictions, filter age-appropriate content, maintain security, prevent abuse, moderate content, investigate reports, understand app performance, and support advertising or monetization where applicable.

User-Generated Content and Public Information

Poll questions, answer options, comments, usernames, display names, avatars, profile information, uploaded poll images, vote totals, and other social activity may be visible to other users depending on the feature. Your full birthday and private account email are not displayed as public profile information.

Please avoid posting personal or sensitive information in public polls, comments, profiles, or images.

Moderation, Reports, and Safety

YipYap uses automated and manual moderation tools to help detect, review, restrict, or remove content that may violate our rules. Users can report polls, comments, profiles, images, and other user-generated content. Reports and flagged content may be reviewed by YipYap administrators.

Moderation records may include the reported content, report reason, optional details, moderation status, and actions taken. Automated checks may sometimes require content to be edited or submitted for review.

Advertising and Monetization

YipYap may use advertising, sponsored content, rewarded features, poll boosts, or other monetization tools. These features may process general app activity, device information, ad interactions, purchase or entitlement information, and age-group signals needed to operate safely. YipYap applies more restricted advertising and monetization behavior for minor accounts.

Service Providers

YipYap may use service providers for database hosting, authentication, file storage, app hosting, analytics, diagnostics, advertising, app distribution, and other operations. These providers process information as needed to provide their services and may have their own privacy terms.

Data Retention and Security

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to operate YipYap, maintain safety and account records, resolve disputes, respond to reports, and meet applicable requirements. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and why it is needed.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user information. No online service can guarantee complete security.

Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your YipYap account and associated account data by emailing support@yipyapwin.com with the subject “YipYap Account Deletion Request.” Include the email address used for your YipYap account. We may need to verify account ownership before processing the request.

Deletion requests will be reviewed and processed as required by applicable policies or law. Some limited records may be retained where reasonably necessary for safety, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or legal obligations.

Children

Users under 13 may not use YipYap. If we learn that an under-13 user provided personal information, we will take appropriate steps to block access and address the information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as YipYap changes. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
